    Need some help been 10yrs or more since i was real lean im training heavy to try and keep size diets good and do 30 min walk/jog on treadmill after work out and 60 mins on off days at 6am for the past 4 weeks i think i look a bit leaner across shoulder area and legs but guts really stubbon just want to be lean enuff to see abs i eat hydroxy cut like lolleys but dont see any results from it anyone got any better ideas than a teaspoon of cider vinegar twice aday appreciate any help

    When doing exercise for fat loss, it can be refined to the exact heart rate needed according to your age and resting heart rate.

    People use the Karvonen calculator to get the ideal rate, then use treadmill, or eliptical stepper etc to keep the rate near constant for 30 to 45 min say 3 times a wee.

    The other area to be quite tight about is food intake. Eating enough to be slightly under a maintanence level. It may take you some time to get it right as it is difficult to adjust food intake and get it right. DA

    P.S you will need a heart rate monitor to make the Karvonen results work well.

    thanks for the help derek im not thinking about competing im semi retired old barstard just trying to stay in the best shape i can i will look in to what you have said

    Old bastard or not – being in shape is a good thing. I probably only meant for you to get in the single digits with fat skinfold measures, so even if your 18-20% BF then 10% or less is only say 3 months away.

    And hell, you can compete with yourself in the mirror! DA
