Hi ppl i am new to the bodybuilding world and am wondering if anyone knows what foods or supplements i should consume in order to speed up recovery….I do not train too hard but am sore for at least a week after every session? π
February 11, 2006 at 5:14 am #2289Plus at every meal during your non-workout time, (say at the rate of 5 to 8 meals per day), feed yourself the same amount of protein, but change the carbo content to more low GI carbs, those that dont have the spike that Dex & Malto Dex have.
Plus make sure you eat some of the good oils with your meals, say at least/around 5 to 10 gm each meal. GOOD OILS meaning Fish oil, olive oil, flaxseed oil.
If all that doesnt work, then start adding slightly larger quantities of protein etc, until it does work. DA
February 11, 2006 at 9:33 pm #2290Thanks for the tips DA & Dr J
I have to admit i was nearly sucked in by Wade Mc Nutt.
I have really been training on and off for the last 5 yrs with no results apart from some improvement on my lats, Tried everything that i know of. Not giving up though π
Cheers fellas
February 11, 2006 at 11:29 pm #2291Try ditching the ‘off’ periods and up the ‘on’ periods and you may notice more gains.
Seriously though if you haven’t made noticable gains in 5 years then you are doing something seriously wrong and no protein is going to help I’m afraid. What you want to look at is:
1. programs
2. frequency
3. diet
4. intensity
5. what are you doin with your time in the gym brother?Are you keeping a log of the above mentioned with a list of body particulars etc?
February 12, 2006 at 12:44 am #2292Thanks Kinmassive
Well i train Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sunday and Tuesday off.
Tried alot of different training methods,
The latest is; 4 sets per muscle group doing 12 reps add weight then doing 10 reps then adding weight 8 reps ect for four sets.
Not Recovering?
I take creatine, 1tsp with 3 of 4 meals through out the day
” ” Mushshi Pro food protein powder, After each workout
I eat egg white, spinach, Cottage cheese, ect, eat well!If anyone has a good training routine Email me pbull1@optusnet.com.au
I am 28, 85 kgs, 174cms tall and Damn good looking
Thanks again
February 12, 2006 at 1:46 am #2293Have a look at this recent thread.
https://muscle.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=725It may not be for you but hey you never know? It seems obvious that what you are doing doesn’t seem to be working for you so this could be the change you are looking for?
What are your short and long term goals with training? In a nut shell why do you go to the gym?
One more thing, if you are not competing then why are you training 6 days a week?
February 12, 2006 at 3:26 am #2294I am Training 4 days per week; Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun & Tues off
My reason for training is i am curious with what it feels like to be big &
ripped.Also i hope it will make my job a little easier as it is a pretty physical job.
Oh and i just love attention : )
Thanks again for your help

6 day’s π³ My bad. But mate that’s still 5 days for the record.
mon=1
wed=2
fri=3
sat=4
sun=5Anyway, don’t think i’m taking the piss here but I’ve noticed your other posts (steroids) and am trying to get a bit of a back ground in your training habits etc to assist you in achieving your goals without juice. What do you do for a crust other than wear your jocks 3 days in a row? I to am in a physical job which can be very demanding sometimes and to be honest there is no fuckin’ way I could work the way I do and train 5 days a week with weights and still get bigger.
Also going by your previous comments about your looks I’m assuming you are looking for the athletic manpower type look, right?

1. diet

4. intensity
5. what are you doin with your time in the kitchen brother?Most people fixate on programs and training parameters. Most people are dissappointed with there progress!
Some of us maintain training logs but almost none of us (that’s me too!) maintain food logs. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter what program you’re on if you don’t have a diet that supports your goals.

February 12, 2006 at 4:41 am #2297Spot on! I was getting there π My next question was going to be in relation to Dreamphysiques recreational activities. 8)

You are getting some good advice here. Eating well and eating enough are not the same thing. Took me years to work that out myself. You need to eat a LOT if you want to be big and ripped.
February 12, 2006 at 7:56 am #2299Me again
I only work 3 days a week; Fri, Sat, Sun.
the rest of my time is taken up with my family (Family guy ere)
But yeah i wanna become as big and toned as possible

And I have to disagree with you Dr J π
In order of importance…
1. diet
2. and then diet
3. plus, theres diet
4. as well as diet
5. program/frequencyIMO, any half assed programm will give good results if your diet is in check, at least for a year or two, where as the best programm in the world wont be worth the paper it is written on without a good diet.
February 13, 2006 at 7:19 am #2301Rightio then it’s been sorted. I’m going to eat well and do bugger all in the gym! πΏ
It’s all about balance. You need both diet and exercise equally. Anyway this is starting to get of track here.
