Free weights vs. machines

    Hey fellas, i’ve just joined a New gym. They didnt have all the equipment in when I did so. (it cost bugger all) Turns out that they have next to no barbells in there and no bench presses!! 😯 – because it’s a safety issue due to it being a 24hr gym. This deeply disturbed me… they’re my fav excercises!
    So if I’m going to actually keep going there, am I going to loose out by restricting myself to not using free weights (or just no barbells) ? They have dumbells and a few fixed curl bars up to 40kg. My answer would be Yes… correct me if I’m wrong.

    Whatever stimulates the muscle to its full potential.

    Alot of guys use free weights cause ‘its so badass’ but dont execute the lift properly – making it useless anyway.

    If you manage to hobble out of the gym using machines, you know you’re onto something good.

    DB press is probably easier on your shoulders than a BB press, in any case.

    I love Machines. A little too much but for now I use free weights to machines 50/50.

    Going heavy on machines is good because there is more isolation. But for that dense muscle nothing beats free weights.

    Machines are great to work around injuries also!!
