My triathlete mate told me to eat bitter and sour foods to promote a aerobic environment within your body or something like that, he always was eating lemons grapefruit and rocket lettuce salads. Said an aerobic environment is beneficial in preventing cancers.
After his marathon workouts he would consume a protein shake with water and wait an hour before eating a meal, mind you he has no kids so he can get plenty of rest between workouts.
he came 14th in his last ironman comp (brazil?) at 38yrs old, so I figure he must be doing something right. He’s just a freak!
