I’ve also been told don’t let your knees go past too much past your toes as this is too much stress to the knees. Also pretend as if your are sitting down on a chair. And keep your head up.

Letting the knees go past the toes, only means the knees will get an extra workout, but to be safer for them – then dont do it.
The other point about the head, its best left in a natural position rather than tilted forward or backward, as it can take from the squat energy and start building a tense neck. Definitely a dodgy thing that you dont want to get into. DA
