If you have only been back from the RC injury for 5 weeks then you haven’t given it enough time to really know whether it is a physical limitation in my opinion.

You definitely have a psychological block though.

If the shoulder is 100% then try this.

Set yourself up in a power rack where you can’t get hurt. Put 105 on the bar and do a single. Then do a couple more. If you can do 5×90 then you can bench 105 and once you know it then 90 won’t be a barrier anymore. Sometimes the best way past a barrier is to go around it rather than through it.

The friend’s advice about bells making your chest weak is rubbish.
