Maybe you should look into HIIT type of training. Max efforts with active rest between efforts. This will increase the efficiency at which the body regenerates ATP.

Also a great way at boosting CV fitness and a excellent way at droping BF to boot!

I agree wit this. HVT (high volume training) probably isnt for you, if thats wot ur doing now and finding that ur burning out.

HIT (mm), Max OT, MN are some ways to train HIT.
