Welcome
to the first edition of our mag — an Australasian on-line
magazine for weight trainers of all descriptions from weekend warriors
to bodybuilders, from sports people to those who just want to look
buff. In this months’ issue, there's a truly Australian story
that shows where there’s a will there’s a way, Ian Hales
rails, as only Ian can, against the giants of the supplements industry
— if Ian’s David, I’d hate to meet Goliath. I
give you my take on some bad form and finally, some 'Nuts and Bolts',
news items and published research that caught my eye.
Okay,
so it’s a modest start but at least it is a start. The rest,
gentle reader, is up to you. If we’re going to succeed in
our goal to build a decent on-line training and nutrition mag we
need readers and contributors. So spread the word. Tell your friends
and go to the forum to tell us what you think.
If
you think you’ve got an article in you, type it up and send
it in. If you’re a personal trainer maybe you’ve got
a routine that works, or maybe you’re an expert in some other
area we all need to know about. Perhaps you’ve got an inspirational
tale, like Bens’, that would motivate us all. Or perhaps you’ve
just got something you need to get off your chest. Just send it
and we’ll consider it.
Just
to get the ball rolling, I’m going to make it real easy for
everyone to contribute. I’m sure you’ve all got a favorite
quote that applies to training and perhaps one or two that apply
to other situations. All you have to do is fill in the blanks below
and press submit.
Good Health,
John
Here’s
a couple of examples
Quote:
‘Do it slowly’ Roger Walker, Mr Universe 1976
Original
context: Snapped at me with obvious disgust at speed with
which I was performing my crunches as the big guy breezed by. City
Gym, at sometime in the early 80’s
Also
applies to: Do I have to spell it out?
And
Quote:
‘If you’re doing something that’s not working
stop doing it!’ Jim Rohn, motivational speaker.
Original
context: Okay, he didn’t actually say this (does
that make it mine?) but it’s one of the great tips I got from
the tape, ‘How to Have a Better Year’ that I borrowed
from a cousin.
Also
applies to: Everything but especially to diets and training
routines
Now
its your turn:
