Protein shakes that mix well in water....and taste good!

Postby Peachy » Tue Dec 22, 2009 10:35 pm

Obviously I know taste is a very personal thing.........

In saying that, the girlfriend wants a protein shake that mixes well in water and tastes good. Her stomach has trouble with dairy type shakes.....

What is recommended in terms of adding flavours/sweeteners to these shakes to give somewhat of a real taste (ie/ amounts per serve etc...)? Are there any that are commonly used?

Also what protein shake is best suited to adding these extra's??

Any help on this is appreciated! Thanks in advance

If dairy is a problem, taste is even more of a problem.

The non dairy options are soy, pea or rice protein. Rice protein has the best natural taste but has quite a gritty mouth feel.

I haven't tried them all, but me and the Mrs have not found a better tasting or mixing protein shake than Horleys Ice Whey, it seriously tastes just like a nesquick or milo etc...no forcing it down at all.
