BT: “I understand you took steroids to achieve your physique. Would you advise me to do the same, since I want to be a successful bodybuilder?”

AS: “I took steroids under a doctor’s supervision, but that was before we knew all we do today about their harmful effects. I advise you very strongly to not use steroids.”

Arnold has claimed that he only used steriods during strict dieting to help maintain muscle mass and not for muscle building during bulking stages. He’s also successfully sued on a couple of occasions when folks have claimed his steroid related death was imminent. See Wikipedia entry on Arnies steriod use

BT: “If you had known when younger that you were heading for heart disease treatment, would you have changed your diet or lifestyle?”

AS: “I have always tried to eat well, look after myself and exercise so there is nothing in my routine I would have done differently. The doctors told me that needing to have a heart valve replaced was genetic, not because of lifestyle.”

Before Arnie left his native Austria he would car take a thermos with him containing a homemade shake of skim milk powder, honey and eggs. He’d have half this concoction between breakfast and lunch and the other half between lunch and dinner.

BT: “How well has your silver screen experience dealing with bad guys prepared you for real-life politics?”

AS: “In business, bodybuilding and in the movies, you analyse the situation and take action. That has been my approach my entire life. But in politics, you have to move more slowly and be more inclusive to achieve your goals; patience is key. It took me a little while to learn that, but it’s a lesson you can only learn by experience.”
