And another 48 will die next week.

Scared? You shouldn’t be! Flu causes around 2500 deaths in Australia a year.

So I worry about headlines like this – Man with Swine Flu Dies in Hospital.

Turns out he had a whole lot of other medical issues that may have contributed to his death. It’s possible that swine flu had little to do with his death.

If an average of 48 people are killed by flu each week how many do you think die from all causes but have a flu virus at the time of death?

My point is beware of media beat ups regarding health and nutrition. Beware of official policy on the same. This point is being rammed home as I read Good Calories, Bad Calories: Fats, Carbs, and the Controversial Science of Diet and Health . Heavy going but scary stuff.

The Teenage Years

The Teenage Years

I couldn’t wait until the same show next year so I did the Sydney Titles, This time, I was a little bit more prepared. I trained really well and followed a strict diet of high protein and low carbs. Here\'s Jimmy!

Here's Jimmy!

My name is Jimmy Sadek and I just wanted to introduce myself. I have been weight training since I was 16 years old. I’m 25 years old now, so that’s 9 years of training and have been competing for 5 of those 9 years. My first competition was when I was 18 and the last time I competed was when I was 22.

I won the ANB Teenage Mr. Australia in 2002 and also the IFBB Junior Mr. Australia in 2005. Below I will tell you a little bit about how I got into weight training, my first competition, the Australian Titles that I won and what I want to achieve next year.

Before I do any of that I would like to thank Myopure for bringing me on board and making me apart of the team and for providing the high quality products to get me started on this new phase of training. Read more

Junior Mr Australia

Meet Jimmy Sadek, 2002 ANB Teenage Mr Australia and 2005 ANB Mr Junior Australia. After a short break, Jimmy’s on the comeback trail and Myopure is right behind him. 2009 is shaping up to be a big year for Mr Sadek—starting with the Sydney Championships in May 09.

That gives him a little over six months to get in competition shape. Even after his hiatus, Jimmy still looks—well, pretty good—and we at Myopure like to think we had something to do with that. Read more
